Excerpts from Father Bartholomew's Journals:Fall, 3AC
People have begun to disappear from our villages. At first we believed that perhaps they had tired of the area and moved on or, like Newton and Roderick, had fled after committing one of the many crimes that seem to be taking place in our once idyllic home. Unexplained thefts are the most common crime, but it saddens me to report that four of our citizen's have been slain in the night (perhaps defending their homes and possessions).
The trust that was so natural when we first arrived has all but gone. People have begun to retreat into their homes at night, barring the doors and refusing entrance to anyone but those that have managed to retain their trust.
I have noticed items missing from the Rectory as well. Several of our religious artifacts have disappeared. Perhaps the most disturbing being the jeweled cross that was entrusted to me many years ago when I first finished my religious training.
Many of the townspeople have come to me for guidance. I know not what to tell them about these mysterious and frightening incidents. I am failing in my role as advisor. I must find a way to combat this and once again reassure the people of the community.
